WHATSAPP KULLANICILARINI ŞOKE EDEN İTİRAF

Dünyanın en büyük anlık mesajlaşma platformu WhatsApp'ı 2009 yılında Jan Koum ile birlikte kuran Brian Acton, kurduğu şirketten kendi isteğiyle ayrılışının üzerinden bir yılın geçmesinin ardından sessizliğini bozdu. Forbes'a konuşan Brian Acton, 2014 yılında WhatsApp'ı 19 milyar dolar karşılığında Facebook'a satmasıyla ilgili olarak, "O gün kullanıcılarımın gizliliğini sattım. Her gün bu kararın ağırlığıyla yaşıyorum" dedi.

WHATSAPP’A YENİ ÖZELLİKLER GELİYOR

Anlık mesajlaşma uygulaması WhatsApp’a iki yeni önemli özellik geliyor. Sessiz Mod ile artık mesaj bildirim logosu gösterilmeyecek. Platforma gelecek bir diğer yenilik ise “Tatil Modu”.

WhatsApp'a yaş kısıtlaması geliyor

Popüler ücretsiz mesajlaşma servisi WhatsApp, daha önce 13 yaşını doldurmuş herkesin platformuna kayıt olmasına izin veriyordu. Öte yandan Avrupa Birliği Genel Veri Koruma Yönetmeliği artık 16 yaşın altındaki herkesin engellenmesini şart koşuyor.



Yönetmelik, bir çocuğa ait kişisel verilerin işlenmesi için özel önlemlerin alınmasını gerektiriyor. Bundan dolayı WhatsApp, 16 yaşın altındaki herkesin servisi kullanması için ebeveyn veya vasi onayına sahip olması anlamına gelen asgari yaş şartını getirmiş durumda.

WhatsApp’ı ve Snapchat’i yasakladılar

Lastik üreticisi Continental, ilginç bir yasak ile gündeme geldi. Continental firması, şirkete ait 36 bin akıllı telefonda WhatsApp ve Snapchat kullanmanın yasaklandığını duyurdu. Continental’in bu yasağının arkasında ise şirketin gizlilik endişeleri var.

After months of waiting, free voice calling on WhatsApp finally arrived on Android late last month. iOS users were left waiting for the feature, however – until today.

A new version of the messenger is now live in the App Store, calling support included.

It seems the feature isn’t actually active for everyone just yet, however. Aside from software updates, WhatsApp tends to roll out features by flipping a switch on their servers. As the changelog notes,  support will arrive in waves over the next several weeks.

As with Android, the calls are free, running on your data connection or Wi-Fi.

Android kullananlar yaşadı

700 milyonun üzerinde kullanıcısıyla dünyanın en popüler mesajlaşma uygulamalarından olan WhatsApp'a sesli arama özelliği geldi.

Dün itibariyle dağıtımına başlanan 2.12.19 sürümü ile WhatsApp kullanan tüm Android işletim sistemli telefon sahipleri uygulama üzerinden arama yapabilecekler.

Android kullanıcıları WhatsApp'a gelen arama geçmişi özelliği sayesinde, standart aramalardaki gibi, önceki aramalarını tekrarlayabilecek.

WhatsApp'ın yayılması özellikle gençler arasında SMS alışkanlığının giderek azalmasına yol açtı. Uygulamaya gelen bu yeni özelliklerin arama alışkanlığını da kaydırıp kaydırmayacağını zaman gösterecek.
